Tixel is a device that utilizes fractionated heat energy for controlled skin injury, which as it heals, improves the condition of the skin. Tixel may be used to treat a variety of skin issues including: melasma, skin texture/pore size, fine lines/wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and tighten the skin.  It may be safely used on/around the eye without eye protection (unlike laser treatments) to improve hooding and smooth creepiness/ crows feet. Number of sessions depends on each patient’s specific skin concerns but may include a services of 2-4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart and/or annual maintenance.

Prior to treatment, patients numb for at least 30 minutes with a topical cream which makes the procedure very well tolerated/ minimally painful.  It feels like having a light sunburn, which goes down after 1-2 hours. Healing time varies, though most patients may expect 48 hours of redness/swelling and up to one week of grid/dot pattern.  After care includes holding active ingredients, hydration/moisturization and sun protection.  Makeup may be applied after 48 hours.
