Sophie A. Greenberg, M.D. is a dermatologist in Harlem at The Dermatology Specialists. She is accepting new patients in her practice and accepts a variety of insurance plans.
She graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in the Department of Anthropology. As an undergraduate student, she volunteered as an emergency medical technician and created a peer mentorship program for students planning a career in the health professions.
She attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where she graduated with an M.D. degree and completed a yearlong research fellowship investigating a novel, natural treatment for non-melanoma skin cancer, for which she was awarded the F. Lowenfish Prize in Dermatology.
After graduating medical school, Dr. Sophie Greenberg completed a medical internship at California Pacific Medical Center in her hometown of San Francisco, CA before returning to New York to complete Dermatology Residency at Columbia University/ New York Presbyterian Hospital.
She has lived in uptown Manhattan going on 9 years, where she is active in the community as both a neighbor and physician. She is grateful to continue to serve the uptown community as a dermatologist at the upper and lower Harlem offices, addressing medical concerns such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, vitiligo, keloids, hair loss, and cosmetic concerns such as skin texture, pigmentation, wrinkles, and acne scars.
Dr. Greenberg brings a holistic perspective to patient care, taking into consideration individual preferences, cultural and lifestyle factors. She is passionate about continuing patient education outside the exam room, through her newsletter, Notes from the Shade, and on Instagram as @sophiegreenbergmd. Additionally, she is a published medical illustrator and has pursued painting seriously, including full time for one year prior to beginning her medical training.
