Skin cancer

Dr. Greenberg performs full body skin cancer screening, a head to toe check to evaluate for the presence of skin cancer. She is trained in using dermoscopy- a magnified, polarized light to evaluate moles/ skin growths for signs of malignancy. Generally once a year check is recommended, though Dr. Greenberg may recommend more or less frequent checks depending on your personal and family history. If indicated, a biopsy may be performed for growths of concern (at the same visit if possible or scheduled at a later date). A skin biopsy is performed with a local numbing injection after which the removal/ sampling of the lesion of concern is painless. Dr. Greenberg will discuss the risks/ benefits in detail before any procedure. If any skin cancers are identified, Dr. Greenberg will refer you to an appropriate skin cancer surgeon / specialist as indicated.
