Perioral (perioroficial) dermatitis is a common, inflammatory condition that impacts the skin around the mouth (hence the name) but also around the nose and / or around the eyes. It can be acute or chronic, exacerbated by harsh skin care, change of season, illness, and stress. A treatment plan includes addressing underlying triggers, a review of home skin care regimen, and prescription medications (topical or oral) as appropriate.
